A successful Byggmeister project isn’t just completed on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction. It also aligns with our mission to serve as an exemplary steward of existing homes. And it helps solve the problems we collectively face—or at the very least doesn’t those problems worst. This is why we seek out opportunities to improve energy performance on every project. It’s also why we advocate for electrification and use low embodied-carbon materials whenever possible. And it’s why we always look first to meet our clients’ needs within their homes’ existing footprints.
We started out in 1983 with limited carpentry experience, no design or business experience, and — our most impressive credential — charter subscriptions to Fine Homebuilding. We made up for our inexperience with our love of older homes, desire to do good work for good people, and commitment to continuous improvement. Nearly four decades later we are much more experienced, but we still push ourselves just as hard. Even as we celebrate a job well-done, we always ask ourselves, “How could we do better next time?” Because no matter how long we’ve been in business, there is always room to improve.
