Building Energy 2016

Tuesday, March 8, 2016

The best high performance building conference of the year took place March 8th-10th. The majority of our crew was on hand at BuildingEnergy 16 (BE16) to learn about the latest advances in building technologies and to advance their understanding of building science.

We were delighted to have played a leadership role in planning the conference for the fifth straight year in a row. Following in Paul's footsteps, Rachel was honored to serve as conference co-chair along with preservation architect Jean Carroon of Goody Clancy.

Paul offered a pre-conference workshop, What Should be Done with This House? during which he and co-presenter Ken Neuhauser of CLEAResult led attendees group through a series of case studies to develop master plans for a range of houses. Paul also participated in a panel discussion entitled Retrofit Like You Give a Sh*t: Inspiring Homeowners to Care About Efficiency, which was both thought-provoking and entertaining.

Finally Matt chaired a session about a subject that is near and dear to the heart of our field crew: the durability of construction tapes. Sticky Business: The Truth About Tapes and What It Means for Your Enclosure shared results of simulated field testing of this key building material.
