ENERGY SERVICES

In our 25 years as home remodelers, we've learned that most home weatherization work is done with the casual approach of "let's do some stuff and hope for the best." At Byggmeister we do things differently, as we believe it's important to know what energy improvements we're aiming for and to measure the results of our efforts.

Our in-house energy performance team is solely dedicated to residential energy diagnosis and measurable implementation of weatherization strategies. While we incorporate our energy services—auditing, planning and contracting—into all design/build projects, we also offer them to homeowners who are simply looking to improve home performance.

Energy Audits

For our audits, we use blower door tests, infrared inspection, and utility bill analysis to identify and quantify weak points in the building envelope and determine household energy consumption.

Energy Planning

Once we have this data in hand, we work with you to set a goal for how well you would like your home to perform, and to develop and implement a plan to achieve this goal. As part of this plan we also address healthy and safety issues such as moisture control and ventilation.

Energy Contracting

Where appropriate, we bring in expert insulation, electric, heating and cooling subcontractors, which we always follow with rigorous quality-control testing. Finally, we track the impact of our work over time on your utility bills, and work with you to determine what your next steps should be as energy costs fluctuate.
